About the Director
Liz McKinnon is a mom from Langley, BC and in Feb. 2010 she started the West Coast All Canadian Girl Pageant System in BC. WCG is BC’s first full natural pageant system (preliminaries/finals) and the response has been overwhelming. There was a great need for pageantry in BC and Liz is more than thrilled to have started it. Liz also successfully directed a large regional paeant in BC in October 2010. In Feb 2011, Liz ran a huge double header pageant for West Coast Girl and Rhinestone Beauties. She has had over 350 girls compete in her pageants!
Three things matter to Liz:
1.Happy kids and parents
2.Fair & honest pageant
3.Every single contestant leaves with amazing prizes and a crown on their head. No one leaves a ‘loser’. No one leaves with a tiny consolation prize! Liz spoils the girls! She knows you want your money's worth, and makes sure you get it!
She is known for her honest pageants where there is no funny business with tabulation. She is also known for her lightning fast registration and tabulation. Liz’s daughter has competed nationally and she is not a ‘rookie’ to pageants. Liz puts her judges through training and works with them for a few weeks before the pageant, so they understand what they should or should not be looking for. She also knows that every child is at a different level and does not force your child to come out with a helper if they don't want one, and vice versa - if they wish to have a parent/aunt, etc... on stage with them, they are welcome to! She does ask that all girls 0-23 months have a helper on stage. Megan is always backstage and ready to help any girls who want someone on stage with them!
Liz holds an Educational Assistant degree and spent almost 8 years working with foster children, teen prostitutes and runaways, but then decided she needed a change of pace.
In 2003, Liz apprenticed with a talent agency in Vancouver, and after a year became a fully trained and licensed Talent Agent. This is her current full time job and she loves it. She handles a roster of very successful children and teens that have appeared in almost every major tv show, feature film and commercial that is shot in Vancouver.
Her daughter, 15 yr old Megan, is also a successful actress and has been nominated several times and won the Young Artist Award in Hollywood. Megan is also a pageant girl, who helps her mom with nearly every aspect of putting on an amazing pageant.
